Your World to Discover represents BaseCamp International Centers in
offering volunteer programs in Nepal.
Morning yoga
classes on the roof top terrace of our volunteer BaseCamp, evening
sunsets spent in local drum circles, holy men wander the streets of
this Himalayan gateway on pilgrimages, mountaineers get ready to
climb Everest, incense smoke fills the streets as Nepal makes its
transition into a democratic state. Volunteers will have an
unforgettable experience in Kathmandu, where they will live and
train in the heart of Thamel.
Volunteers can work with NGO's and
community groups to assist with environmental programs, health and
medical placements, social and vocational training initiatives and
numerous programs designed to improve the quality of life for
mountain porters.
During the orientation week training
consists of three hours of Nepalese language training and the
afternoons consist of practical training, both in the classroom and
on various structured outings, designed to help volunteers adjust to
life in the field.
